USA Wrestling's Coaches Education Program is designed to give coaches a foundation of successful coaching principles to help grow the base of amateur wrestling throughout the country. The National Coaches Education Program (NCEP) certified over 1,100 coaches nationally last year at the Bronze Level. NCEP certification is required by USA Wrestling, the National Governing Body of Amateur wrestling, for coaches to participate in state, regional, national, and international events. If you're an active wrestling coach, you need to get NCEP certified! By completing the certification process at the Bronze Level, you will receive the Bronze Certified Card, and Certificate allowing you to coach at USA Wrestling events across the country. Also, you will receive for future reference the Coach's Guide to Excellence, a $30 value. Finally, as an added bonus for completing the Bronze level, you will receive the official Bronze Certified Coach's shirt, a $25 value. Coaches who are Bronze certified are leaders in the wrestling community and are then encouraged to pursue further education through NCEP by completing the Silver and Gold levels. Once, a coach is Bronze certified he/she can attend the National Coaches Colleges held annually. The Coaches College is a five-day intensive study of the sport of wrestling. This past year, two of USA Wrestling's Olympic Coaches completed their Silver Certification. National Greco-Roman Coach and former Olympic Gold Medallist Steve Fraser and Head Greco-Roman Olympic Coach Dan Chandler took the steps to become NCEP certified at the Silver level. USA Wrestling encourages all active wrestling coaches to take the lead in building the sport of wrestling and attend a Bronze-Certification course soon! A $50 payment by cash or check will be required at registration for the Bronze Level Course.
