2001 Sunkist/ASU International Open set for October 26-28 in Phoenix, Ariz.     The 17th annual Sunkist/ASU International Open will be held at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Ariz. Oct. 26-28. Elite wrestlers come from all over the world come to compete in men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.     Canada has confirmed sending a men's and women's freestyle team, while Columbia, Mexico, Tadjikistan and Uzbekistan have expressed  that they would like to attend, but have not confirmed.     The U.S. swept all the gold medals in mens freestyle wrestling in 2000. Among the champions were Mike Mena (Bloomington, Ind./New York AC) at 119 pounds, Cody Sanderson (Ames, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) at 127.75 pounds, Dustin Denunzio (Cambridge, Mass./Dave Schultz WC) at 138.75 pounds, Chris Bono (Gilbert, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) at 152 pounds, Joe Heskett (Cleveland, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) at 167.5 pounds, Aaron Simpson (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) at 187.25 pounds, Raphael Davis (Bakersfield, Calif./Dave Schultz WC) at 213.75 pounds and 1999 World champion Stephen Neal (Bakersfield, Calif./Dave Schultz WC) at 286 pounds.     U.S. Military athletes dominated the Greco-Roman competition, led by Duaine Martin (Quantico, Va./U.S. Marine Corps), at 127.75 pounds, Rob McKenney (Quantico, Va./U.S. Marines) at 167.5 pounds, Aaron Sieracki (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Air Force) at 187.25 pounds,  Dan Hicks (Quantico, Va./U.S. Marines) at 213.75 pounds and Paul Devlin (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 286 pounds.     Other individual U.S. Greco-Roman champions were Randy Devlin at 138.75 pounds and Marco Sanchez (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) at 152 pounds.      Patricia Miranda(Saratoga, Calif./Dave Schultz WC) was one of four U.S. individual champions in the women's division, along with Grace Magnussen (Walnut CreeMissouri Valley) at 127.75 pounds,  Sara McMann (Lock Haven, Pa. Sunkist Kids) at 136.5 pounds and Toccara Montgomery (Cleveland, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) at 149.75 pounds.     This tournament features prize money for the participants as part of the U.S. National Team program.
