Mitch Clark, assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University will hold a clinic for USA Wrestling members in Borger, Texas located near Amarillo. Any coach or wrestler who holds a current 2001-2002 membership card for USA Wrestling is invited to the free wrestling clinic that begins at 9:00 a.m. at Borger Youth Wrestling club on Saturday, October 20th. The clinic will focus on folkstyle wrestling technique, specifically the heralded top work that Clark is well-known for. Mitch Clark stunned the NCAA Championship crowd in 1997, by tech-falling his opponent in the National finals in the first period. A feat unsurpassed by any other NCAA Champion. Clark is a tenacious leg-rider who always works for the fall. His "Take-Top" technique is exciting for kids and coaches of all ages. Clark was also a NCAA a runner-up in 96, a two-time Big Ten Champion, a Midlands Champion, and a New York State Champion. Texas USA Wrestling is showing dramatic growth, as more and more wrestlers turn to the national organization to challenge themselves with the best schedule of age group tournaments in the country. Al Rodger, state chairperson of Texas USA Wrestling, looks forward to this weekend's clinic. "In Texas we are looking to build the largest state wrestling organization nationally. Coaches and wrestlers who wrestle primarily scholastic matches will learn a lot by coming to this clinic. Then, we hope that they'll want to get more involved with USA Wrestling." USA Wrestling Membership cards will be sold at the clinic. The clinic is scheduled from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The clinic location is: Borger Youth Wrestling Club 700 Whittenburg St. Borger, Texas For more information contact: Al Rodger at 1-800-276-6344
