USA Wrestling has opened its special members-only web page, which will provide all current USA Wrestling members with state-of-the art  video wrestling instruction online, as well as other cutting edge features.    One of the major features of the members-only web page is the Palestra, a searchable on-line video database, which provides detailed technique demonstrations.    Currently, the Palestra of Freestyle Techniques is activated and available for use. In the future, the Palestra of Greco-Roman Techniques and the Palestra of Folkstyle Techniques will also be activated.    Another popular feature in the members-only site is the Bout of the Week. Featured in the first week is the Kendall Cross vs. Terry Brands match three from the 1996 Freestyle Olympic Team Trials in Spokane, Wash. Many people believe that this intense series was among the most exciting wrestling showdowns in history.    Special Merchandise discounts and other features will also be included on the web site on a regular basis.    To visit the members-only site, people must go to USAWrestling.org (http://www.usawrestling.org) and click on members only section. Another option is to visit the site through the link on TheMat.com.    For a limited time only, anybody can test out the USA Wrestling members-only page to learn how to use the powerful utilities and features. This free trial period will run through the end of the 2001 World Championships of Wrestling, which will be held at Madison Square Garden, Sept. 26-29.    From that point on, people must enter their 2001-02 USA Wrestling membership card number to receive access to the members-only page. The members-only page is available free of charge only to current USA Wrestling members as a benefit of their membership.    Athletes, coaches and officials can join USA Wrestling by contacting their state association. Those who wish to become USA Wrestling Partner members can sign up at TheMat.com, or contact USA Wrestling's national office at 719-598-8181.
