Tom Brands to offer clinic in Virginia

Olympic Champion Tom Brands will travel to Chantilly High School in Virginia to support the growing membership in USA Wrestling. On Sunday, September 23rd Tom Brands will offer a free clinic to current members of USA Wrestling. Wrestlers, Coaches, and Wrestling Fans will receive free entrance into the Tom Brands clinic with the purchase of the 2001-2002 USA Wrestling membership card. Tom Brands, now the top-assistant for the Iowa Hawkeyes, will open wrestler's eyes to the incredible intensity and commitment that made him into a world-class athlete. Brands had a masterful career as a wrestler at all age levels. In high school Brands was a state champion competing for Sheldon high school, in Iowa. While wrestling for Dan Gable at the University of Iowa, Brands earned All-American honors four times, and won the NCAA Championship three times. After storming through the college ranks Brands went on to become one of the United States' most highly acclaimed international wrestlers. Tom Brands earned the U.S. Nationals Champion honors four times. He captured the World Cup title twice. In 1996 Tom Brands capped is his amazing career by becoming an Olympic Champion in Atlanta, Georgia. Brands' dedication to the sport of wrestling is well known. His trip to Virginia is designed to help grow the ranks of amateur wrestling in the region.
