Two takedowns for Donahoe got within 8-6, but he couldn't score from the top position. 105.5 Mack Reiter (Iowa) tech fall Michael Goslicky (Pennsylvania) 12-2. Reiter, last year's cadet champion, turned and tilted Goslicky almost at will. Goslicky's two points were a couter to Reiter's back, but from there on out, Reiter dominated. 114.5 Mark Moos (Ohio) dec. Sam Hazewinkel (Florida) 13-12. Hazewinkel started the match with a five point high amplitude throw, but Moos battled back with two takedowns before the break. Starting the second with Hazewinkel leading 5-2, Moos and Hazewinkel traded takedowns, then Moos used two exposures to jump to a 7-6 lead. Back and forth reversals and exposures racked up the points quickly. Moos drove Hazewinkel out of bounds with a double, taking a 13-11 lead. Hazewinkel answered with a takedown with 20 seconds to go to get within 13-12, but standing with :02 remaining, Moos hung on for the title. 123 Travis Lee (Hawaii) dec. Nick Simmons (Michigan) 3-1. Lee used a takedown to jump to a 1-0 lead at the break. Lee, who days earlier brought Hawaii its first junior national champion, is a double winner. 132 Teyon Ware (Oklahoma) dec. Dave Hoffman (Pennsylvania) 9-4. Ware led 2-1 at the break, Hoffman took the lead in the second with a takedown and a hand-to-hand gutwrench. The lead was short-lived as Ware threw Hoffman for three points on the edge of the mat. Adding a gutwrench and a dump, both for two points, Ware won his second junior national freestyle championship. 143 Ron Tarquinio (Pennsylvania) dec. Ben Cherrington (Colorado) 9-6. Back and forth, Tarquinio took the lead on a flurry late in the match, and added two takedowns after a gut and exposure to win the title. 154 Derek Zinck (Pennsylvania) dec. Zach Esposito (New Jersey) 7-4. Zinck took a 4-0 lead early, but Esposito used a reversal and three takedowns to tie the match at 4. Zinck's takedown with :30 seconds remaining and subsequent gutwrench brough him a title to Pennsylvania. 165 Johnny Hendricks (Oklahoma) tech fall Matt Herrington (New York) 10-0, 2:40. Hendricks dominated the field, and used a barrage of takedowns, exposures and his final gut wrench ended the match with the score 10-0 in his favor. 178 Hetag Pliev (Ohio) dec. Willie Parks (Colorado) 4-2. Pliev added another championship in freestyle, jumping up to the junior division and used a takedown and two backs and extra point to secure a 4-2 victory. Parks scored on two takedowns. 191.5 Jeff Clemens (Ohio) dec. Andy Rios (Ohio) 6-5. In a battle of instate rivals, Clements rebounded from an early 3-0 defecit with exposure points and two takedowns. Rios got within a point and was in deep on a shot, but didn't finish, it could have tied the match. 220 Matt Feast (Pennsylvania) tech fall Criston Bietz (South Dakota) 16-5, 5:59. After a slow start where both wrestlers traded points, Feast led 5-2 at the break. He jumped out to a big lead after locking up a cradle and scoring exposure points and back points. Feast is a double champion, winning Greco earlier in the week. HWT Steven Mocco (New Jersey) pin Cain Velasquez (Arizona) 3:25.
