Back and forth reversals and exposures racked up the points quickly. Moos drove Hazewinkel out of bounds with a double, taking a 13-11 lead. After a slow start where both wrestlers traded points, Feast led 5-2 at the break. He jumped out to a big lead after locking up a cradle and scoring exposure points and back points.
