4:40 - The gold at 85 kg went to Adam Saitiev of Russia, who had a pair of nice throws and pinned Cuba's Yoel Romero in 3:41. The bronze at 130 kg went to Cuba's Alexis Rodrigues, winning a 0-0 referee's decision over Abbas Jadidi of Iran. (exactly how they get 0-0 after the clinch is still a question, but they did review the tape matside to make the ref decision).    3:45 -  Magomed Ibragimov of Macedonia, with an explosive 3-point throw in overtime at 8:25, beat Amir Khadem of Iran, 4-1 for the bronze medal at 85 kg.    3:30 - Daniel Igali of Canada scored a strong 7-4 decision over Arsen Gitinov of Russia for the gold medal at 69 kg. Both of the U.S. bronze medalists, McIlravy and Brands, lost to the eventual champion this morning.    3:15 - Lincoln McIlravy scored a solid 3-1 victory over Sergei Demtchenko of Belarus for the bronze medal. Lincoln scored a pair of one-point takedowns in the first period, at 2:14 and 2:37 for a 2-0 lead at break. In the second period, he scored the winning third point on a spin behind takedown at 5:04. Demtchenko scored his lone point on a takedown in the last 10 seconds, and the match ended. The USA had a disappointing day, considering its high expectations, but it ended with classy wins by star athletes for the bronze medal.    2:55 - Ali Reza Dabier of Iran won the gold medal at 58 kg, beating Yegen Buslovich of Ukraine in the finals, 3-0. Dabir is celebrating to the excitement of the many Iranian fans in the crowd.    2:40 - Brands battled Damir Zakhardtinov of Uzbekistan for the bronze medal. The Uzbek scored the first point on a takedown at the 45 second mark, but Brands responded with his own takedown at 1:51 to knot it at 1-1. Brands hit a double leg takedown for one point at 2:44 and led 2-1 at break. At the 4:06 mark, Brands hit another double leg for the 3-1 lead and enough points for the win. The Uzvek scored at 5:58, and Terry wins the bronze 3-2    2:30 - the final session has begun. Terry Brands vs. Zakhardtinov of Uzbekistan is on the mat right now. McIlravy vs. Demchenko of Ukraine is the third match.    12:00 noon - Burton and McCoy placed fifth, after their opponents did not show due to injury default. The session ended as strangely as it began. One of the stories from the session was that a portion of the McCoy match video tape had been taped over, including the part that was in question by the U.S. coaches. Apparently, when they reviewed the tape on the mat, they accidently taped over the first period. Another tape was produced, and that is what was used during the re-opening of the protest. Taymazov, who beat McCoy, went on to quickly pin Alexis Rodrigues of Cuba and is in gold medal match.     11:00 a.m - The McCoy protest was denied, after the review. It's official. The USA has no gold-medal finalists today, with Brands and McIlravy going for bronze and McCoy and Burton going for fifth.    10:45 - The Brands/Dabier match was protested, and the protest was denied.    10:35 - McIlravy just dropped a war with Daniel Igali of Canada, in the finals rematch of last year's Worlds. Igali jumped to a 2-0 lead at mid break, with two takedowns. McIlravy scored a point on a whizzer on the edge then added a two-point gutwrench for a 3-2 lead at 3:48. Igali tied the match at 3-3 on a takedown at 5:39. In overtime, Igali won an active exhange for a three-point takedown for the 6-3 win at 8:14. As this point right now, the United States has no athletes in the finals (but McCoy's protest is still pending)    10:20 -McCoy's protest has been reopened. This is a new one for this event.    10:15 - McCoy's protest was denied. McCoy will go for fifth place.    10:00 - Brands and Dabir of Iran, in a battle of World Champions, in the semis. Dabier opened strongly, scoring a three-point takedown and a hold for a 4-0 lead. Another takedown at 2:16 gave Dabier the 5-0 lead at break. Brands opened it up in the second period with one-point takedowns at 3:13 and 3:55, closing to 5-2. Dabier answered with a single leg takedown at 4:49 for a 6-2 edge. At 5:13,the athletes went out of bounds hard, on a caution and one penalty, making it 6-3. At 5:39, Brands scored a takedown for 6-4. The referees broke a leg turn. At 5:56 Brands got another takedown for 6-5, the final margin of victory for Dabier    9:50 - McCoy just lost a crazy match 8-7 in the quarters to Taymazov of Uzbekistan. McCoy led 3-0, with a takedonw and turn then lost eight staight points to trail 8-3 at break. McCoy hit a three-point hip throw for an 8-6 margin late in the second period, then added a takedown in the last 10 seconds for the 8-7 margin. The USA is protesting this match.    9:30 - Burton had a nailbiter against Ibragimov of Macedonia. Burton scored on a caution and one point penalty in the first period, and Ibragimov got an escape, making it 1-1 at break. In the second period, Ibragimov was penalized with another caution and one penalty, giving Burton the 2-1 lead at the end of regulation. In overtime, Ibragimov tossed Burton for a three point throw and the win, 4-2 at 8:45.    9:25 - McIlravy won quarterfinal #2, beating Diaconu of Moldova 3-1. He scored a pair of first period takedowns, leading 2-0 at the break. McIlravy scored the important third point on a takedown early in the third period, and surrendered a takedown to Diaconu later for the winning margin.    9:10 - Brands opened with Pogosian of Georgia. Brands opened the match on fire, scoring three takedowns for a 3-0 lead at midbreak. Pogosian scored a pair of takedowns in the second period, but Brands scored a TD in the last 10 seconds for a 4-2 win    9:00 let the semis begin. All of the Americans are going back to back. Brands against Pogosian of Georgia; McIlravy against Diaconu of Romania; Burton against Ibragimov of Macedonia and McCoy against Taymazov of Uzbekistan.
