Charleston, SC -- The Citadel wrestling coach Rob Hjerling has completed the 2001 recruiting season by landing two more grapplers. Billy Linane of Kissimmee, FL and Braxton Harrisin of Summerville, both have signed National Letters-of-Intent to wrestle for the Bulldogs. Linane, a product of Gateway High School, finished his career with a record of 103-21 which included a mark of 43-3 his senior year. The 2001 campaign was a successful one for Linane as he lost only three matches all season. He was named the Cental Florida Wrestler-of-the-Year while winning the Florida AA state championship at 215-pounds. He was also a member of the 2000 Junior National Greco All-American team after placing fourth in the 215-pound weight class at the 2000 Florida AA state championship meet. Linane will wrestle as a heavy weight for The Citadel. Harrisin, a local product from Summerville High School, placed at the South Carolina AAAA championship meet in back-to-back years. During his senior season, he placed third at 171-pounds and during his junior campaign, he finished second at 152-pounds. Harrisin was also a two-time regional champion and a two-time Lower State runner-up. Harrisin will wrestle at the 165-pound weight class for the Bulldogs. "Billy and Braxton cap off a tremendous recruiting year," said Hjerling. "Both of them will make an immediate impact on our program. With this recruiting class, along with our returning team members, our line-up should be well balanced and deep at every weight class." Linane and Harrisin join Chris Moore of Waldorf, MD, Jeff Taylor of Honea Path, SC, Mike Martinez of Temple Terrace, FL, Ivan Enriquez of Coral Gables, FL, Jesse Udell of Mesa, AZ, Ryan McClester of Lugoff, SC, Ty Christensen of Columbus, NE, Brad Ragan of Venice, FL, and Sean Paez of Raleigh, NC, as the 2001 Bulldog wrestling signees.
