Minnesota dominated the field in the Cadet Freestyle National Duals en route to winning the state's second title in three days on Saturday, June 16 in Englewood, Colo. Minnesota easily defeated the Oklahoma Roughnecks, winning the final six matches to close out the championship with a 35-15 victory. Many of the same Minnesota wrestlers competed for the Cadet Greco-Roman Team that won the National tournament on Thursday. The wide margin of the championship match was indicative of the rest of the matches in the championship round, none of which were decided by less than 17 points. California posted the widest margin of the day, winning 11 of 13 matches to defeat Michigan 40-12. Indiana Gold won matches four through nine in their 35-19 victory over Iowa Gold, while Kansas Gold won 10 of 13 matches to beat Idaho 33-14. The consolation championship provided the only close round of the final round as Oregon defeated California 27-21. The consolation bracket was made up of teams that didn't qualify for the championship rounds. Twenty-two teams from 18 states competed in this year's Cadet Freestyle Nationals.
