Opportunities still exist for talented athletes on USA Wrestling's 1998 Elite Age Group Tours. These tours provide U.S. athletes with a mix of high level competition, training opportunities and cultural activities.  
 Below you will find a list of the scheduled wrestling tours for 1998.  The qualifications and application process is listed under each tour.  If you are unsure if you are qualified, play it safe and apply.

 1998 NATIONAL TOURS _____________________________________________________________ 
 Tour:    NATIONAL ELITE TOUR TO HUNGARY (Freestyle)  
 Date:    Tentative: June 24-June 7, 1998   
 Age Divisions:  Fila Juniors (20 and under) 
 Weight Divisions: 108, 114.5, 123.25, 132.25, 143.25, 154.25, 167.5, 182.75, 198.25, 253.5  
 Tentative Schedule: Training camp and dual meets with the National Junior Team of Hungary, held at Lake Balaton (resort area).  Possibly two other countries will attend.  There will be an emphasis on technique and instruction will be provided by World and European Champions as well as the Hungarian National Coach.  A day trip to Budapest and other cultural activities will be provided. 
 Requirements:  Passport (valid through October of 1999) 
 Cost:    Est. $2,100.00-$2,300.00 plus a domestic flight to NY-JFK Airport 
 Qualifications:  Top 8 place finisher at the 1996 Junior Nationals      Top 4 place finisher at any 1996 USAW Junior Regional Tournament      Other notable wrestling accomplishments may be considered

 Date:    Tentative: June 10-June 24, 1998

 Weight Divisions: 108, 114.5, 123.25, 132.25, 143.25, 154.25, 167.5, 182.75, 198.25, 253.5

 Tour:    NATIONAL ELITE TOUR TO BULGARIA (freestyle and Greco Roman) 
 Date:    Tentative: June 17-July 1, 1998  
 Age Divisions:  FILA Juniors (20 and Under) 
 Weight Divisions: 108, 114.5, 123.25, 132.25, 143.25, 154.25, 167.5, 182.75, 198.25, 253.5  
 Tentative Schedule: The team will travel throughout the country of Bulgaria for a series of dual meets, joint training session and cultural activities.  The team should have between 4 and 6 matches against very tough Bulgarian squads.  The team will see many different cities including the capital of Sophia and resort towns on the Black Sea. 
 Requirements:  Passport (valid through October of 1999) 
 Cost:    Est. $2,100.00-$2,300.00 plus a domestic flight to NY-JFK Airport 
 Qualifications:  Top 8 place finisher at the 1996 Junior Nationals      Top 4 place finisher at any 1996 USAW Junior Regional Tournament      Other notable wrestling accomplishments may be considered.
