The U.S. wrestlers competing at this major event are Cadet age (14-16 years old.
The United States wrestler who advanced Saturday was
Jeremiah Knabe (Jackson, Minn.), who won an overtime decision and guaranteed himself a top-eight finish at 83 kg.
The other four American grapplers were eliminated after losing two matches: Cam Jones (Salt Lake City, Utah) at 42 kg; Jesse Jensen
(Brooklyn Park, Minn.) at 48 kg; Spencer Dominguez
(Waukesha, Wis.), at 57 kg; and Ashton Buswell (Pleasant View, Utah) at 69 kg.
The second day of Greco-Roman wrestling competition is slated for
Saturday, as four Americans make their World Youth Games debuts: Zach Lamano (Layton, Utah) at 45 kg; Josh Lamano (Layton, Utah) at 52 kg.; Justin Millard (Bellefonte, Pa.) at 76kg; Roy Williams (Titusville, N.J.) at 95 kg.
