BOSCH, PIERCE WIN SILVER MEDALS; MARTIN, COOPER CLAIM BRONZE MEDALS AT HAPARANDA CUP IN SWEDEN, DEC. 5-6 

U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers Ethan Bosch (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) and Billy Pierce (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) claimed silver medals at the Haparanda Cup in Haparanda, Sweden, Dec. 5-6.

Bosch placed second at 187.25 pounds, falling to Aleksei Zagrebin of Russia in the gold medal finals. Bosch is currently ranked No. 4 in the United States.

Pierce was second at 286 pounds, losing to Iouri Patrikeev of Russia in the championship bout. Pierce holds a No. 2 national ranking at his weight class.

A pair of U.S. Marine Corps wrestlers claimed bronze medals: Duaine Martin at 127.75 pounds and Marcel Cooper at 152 pounds.

Two other U.S. wrestlers were fourth: Dan Hicks (Fredricksburg, Va., U.S. Marines) at 213.75 pounds and Corey Farkas (Colorado Springs, Colo., U.S. Air Force) at 286 pounds.

The athletes were part of a group from the U.S. Marines Corps wrestling team, a number of U.S. Olympic Training Center resident athletes, as well as other top competitors from across the nation. The United States team placed in a tie for fourth in the final team standings. This competition traditionally features many top international stars from across Europe.
