U.S. women's wrestling team loses to Sweden in a World Dual meet, 15-11, and compete in an All-Star meet in Sweden, March 11 
  The U.S. women's wrestling team lost a World Dual meet to Sweden, 15-11, in Sweden, March 11.  
 Danielle Hobeika (Cambridge, Mass./Harvard WC) competed at 101.25 pounds for the U.S. and was ahead by four points in her match against Inger Hansson of Sweden with two seconds left when she lost the match by a pin. The U.S. then won the 112.25-pound weight class when Stephanie Murata (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) scored a technical fall over Ida, 12-0.  
 Sweden won the next two matches. First, at 123.25 pounds when Treeva Cohee (Omaha, Neb./Edmondson Youth YMCA) lost to Sara Eriksson by a pin, and at 136.5 pounds when Jimi-Dawn Hornbuckle (Lawrence, Kan./Dave Schultz WC) lost by a technical fall to Lotta Andersson, 11-0.  
 The U.S. then won the last two matches of the dual. Abigale Schwarzberg (Huntington Woods, Mich./Cal-St. Bakersfield) scored a decision over Heidi Skemark, 6-3, at 149.75 pounds and Iris Smith (Albany, Ga./Minnesota-Morris) won by injury default over Helene Karlsson at 165.25 pounds.  
 Some of the U.S. wrestlers also competed in an All-Star exibition match against Japan and Sweden. Afsoon Johnston (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) lost a 5-0 decision to Yuka Tsuji of Japan at 112.25 pounds and Malissa Sherwood (Granite Bay, Calif./Dave Schultz WC) lost a 11-9 decision to Tomoko Shinkai of Japan at 112.25 pounds. 
 Olga Lara (Daly City, Calif./Peninsula Grapplers) pinned Eri Sakamoto of Japan at :55 in the match and Sandra Bacher (San Jose, Calif./Dave Schultz WC) pinned Tomoe Miyamoto of Japan at 1:42.
