Army wins the 1999 Armed Forces Greco-Roman Championships with four individual champions; Cooper claims double title 
  The U.S. Army beat the U.S. Marine Corp, 17-16, to win the 1999 Armed Forces Greco-Roman Championships at the Post Field House in Fort Carson, Colo., March 13. 
 The U.S. Army redeemed a close loss to the Marines last year to win both the freestyle and Greco-Roman championships.  In the championship dual meet, the Marines were ahead, 15-13, when Dremeil Byers of the Army defeated Greg Gibson of the Marines by a technical fall, 12-1, in the 286-pound match to complete the victory for the Army by one point. The U.S. Air Force placed third, and the U.S. Navy placed fourth. 
 Four Army wrestlers won individual gold medals.  Dave Nieradka at 127.75 pounds, Glenn Nieradka at 138.75 pounds, Keith Sieracki at 167.5 pounds and Dremiel Byers at 286 pounds.   
 The Marines had two individual Greco-Roman champions. Marcel Cooper claimed a double title at 152 pounds.  The other Marine champion was Dan Hicks at 213.75 pounds.  The Air Force had one champion in Aaron Sieracki at 187.25 pounds, and Steven Mays was the lone Navy champion at 119 pounds. 
 In the overall team standing, the U.S. Army won the title, with the U.S. Marines placing second.  The U.S. Air Force placed third and the U.S. Navy placed fourth.
