Finalists set for the Cadet Greco-Roman World Team Trials Championships at Evanston, Ill., April 8Nine new champions will be crowned at the finals of the 1999 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team Trials Championships for men at Evanston, Ill., April 9.
James Woodall of Pennsylvania, scored a decision over Drew Hageman of Oregon, 3-2, in the semifinals to advance to the title match at 167.5 pounds. Woodall won the title at 152 pounds last year. He will face Nick Zaic of Minnesota who decisioned E.K. Waldhans of CO, 7-4, in the other semifinal.
Other finalists include: Daryl Spackman of Utah and Willy Holst of Wisconsin at 92.5 pounds, Nate Gallick of Arizona and Luke Smith of Wisconsin at 101.5 pounds, Zack Lamano of Utah and Shan Bunch of Kansas at 110 pounds and Harry Lester of Ohio and Mike Simpson of California at 119 pounds.
At 127.75 pounds, Josh Lamano of Utah and Chris Fleeger of Pennsylvania will compete for the title, and at 138.75 pounds, Tony Hook of Idaho and Jamell Tidwell of Minnesota will compete. At 152 pounds, Jason Woodall of Pennsylvania and Paul Carlson of Minnesota are paired up, at 187.25 pounds, K.C. Walsh of Washington and Justin Millard of Pennsylvania will compete and at 220.25 pounds, Matt Hasbrook of Indiana and Eli Ross of Minnesota will wrestle for the title.
The finals will begin Friday morning, April 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Welsh-Ryan McGaw Hall on the campus of Northwestern University.
