Kyle Ott of Huber Heights, Ohio will return to the 1999 FILA Cadet Freestyle World Team to compete in Lodz, Poland, August 4-7. The best 15-17 year old wrestlers will be featured at the tournament.

The team is made up of medalists from the 1999 Cadet World Team Trials at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., April 11.

Ott will compete at 110 pounds. At last year's Cadet World Championships, Ott finished in 9th place with a record of 2-2.

Two members of the 1999 World Team, Marcus Levessuer of Minneapolis, Minnesota at 138.75 pounds and Isreal Martinez of Aurora, Ill., at 127.75 pounds, won the Cadet World Team Trials in freestyle for the second year in a row. Neither one competed in the 1998 World Championships.

Other Team USA members include: Tim Kephart of Ballwin, Mo., at 92.5 pounds; Todd Meneely of Omaha, Neb., at 101.5 pounds; Harry Lester of Akron, Ohio, at 119 pounds; Sean McIntosh of Sherrills Ford, N.C., at 152 pounds; Juan Pena of Puerto Rico at 167.5 pounds; Matt Daddino of Franklin Square, N.Y., at 187.25 pounds; and Dale Long of Kansas City, Mo., at 220.25 pounds. Long, McIntosh and Meneely are the only three team members who did not win the title in their weight class at the Cadet World Team Trials in April. The champions in their respective weight classes opted not to compete in the Championships.

Team USA will be coached by Mark Perry, assistant coach at Oklahoma State Univ., and Lou Sondgeroth of Denver, Colo. The team will travel to Poland on July 29, where they will have a five-day acclamation camp in Lodz.

To be eligible for Cadet competition, wrestlers must be born either in 1983 or 1984. Ten weight classes comprise the Cadet division: 92.5, 101.5, 110, 119, 127.75, 138.75, 152, 167.5, 187.25, 220.25+.
