FARGO, N.D. - Thirteen champions were crowned at the 1999 AdvoCare Cadet Greco-Roman Championships at the Fargodome in Fargo, N.D., on Monday night, July 19. 
   There was only one repeat champion in the group. Winning the title for the second time was Joe Hennis of Mims, Fla. at 242 pounds. The other twelve were first time winners of the Cadet Greco-Roman National title. 
  Among the winners were Alex Usztics of Dauphin, Penn. at 83.5 pounds, Greg Brendemuehl  of Fairbault, Minn. at 88 pounds, Daryl Spackman of Sandy, Utah at 94.5 pounds, Nate Gallick  of Tucson, Ariz. at 103.5 pounds and  Zach Lamano of Layton, Utah at 112 pounds.  Harry Lester of Akron, Ohio won the title at 121 pounds, Robb Maxwell of Sandy, Utah at 132 pounds, Matt Herrington of Cambridge, N.Y. at 143 pounds, Zemaior Pittman of Flint, Mich. at 154 pounds, Adam Yohe of Longview, Wash. at 167 pounds, Eli Riley of Onawa, Iowa at 182.5 pounds and Max Lossen of Winona, Minn. at 209 pounds.  
  Usztics decisioned Kevin Milakovic of Zionsville, Ind., 6-1. This National title is the first for Usztics. Also winning his first Cadet National title was Brendemuehl. He was down 3-5, and scored a takedown in the last five seconds to send the match into overtime. He scored a takedown in sudden-death overtime over Derek Moore of Redding, Calif. to win the title, 7-5. 
  Spackman scored a 5-3 decision over Brandon Tucker of Broken Arrow, Okla. to win his first title. Spackman is a member of the 1999 Cadet Greco-Roman World team.  In a re-match of the 101.5-pound 1999 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team Trials final, Luke Smith from Chippewa Falls, Wis. faced Nate Gallick from Tucson, Ariz.  Smith was victorious in that match to make the World team, but Gallick came from behind in the National Championships to defeat Smith, 5-3, to claim his first National title. Gallick was the runner-up at 88 pounds last year, and Smith was the champion at 94.5 pounds. 
  Lamano decisioned C.P. Schlatter of Westerville, Ohio, 3-2, to win his first national title. Lamano is a member of the 1999 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team at 110 pounds. Lester scored a technical fall over Ron Tarquinio from McDonald, Pa., 10-0, in 1:55 to win his first title. Both Lester and Tarquinio were All-Americans last year, with Lester placing third and Tarquinio placing eighth.  
  Maxwell scored the first pin of the finals at 132 pounds when he pinned Trent Paulson of Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1:55. This is Maxwell's first National title. Also winning his first National title was Herrington at 143 pounds. He scored a technical fall over Derrick Hendren from Denver, Colo., 10-0, in 2:49.  
  Also winning his first title is Pittman at 154 pounds. He scored a technical fall over Dustin Wiles of Farmington, Mo., 11-0. Pittman was a runner-up last year at 143 pounds. Yohe scored a decision over Roger Kish of Lapeer, Mich., 7-2. This is Yohe's first title and Kish's first All-American placing. 
  Riley won a close overtime match over Nathan Moore of Indianapolis, Ind., 2-0, to win his first title. He was an All-American last year at 167 pounds with a seventh-place finish. Lossen won his first title with a decision over Apollo Johnsen of San Jose, Calif., 8-3.  
  The only returning champion of the tournament came at 242 pounds when Hennis decisioned Lanfer Simpson, 13-5. This title is the second for Hennis.  
  The Outstanding wrestler of the tournament is Zemaior Pittman of Flint, Mich. at 154 pounds and the award for the most amount of falls in the least amount of time is Skyler Woods of Mesquite, Nev. with seven falls in 14:51, at 121 pounds. There were a total of 779 wrestlers who competed in the Cadet Greco-Roman tournament. 
  The Junior Greco-Roman National Championship Session IV will take place Tuesday, July 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The medal matches will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the finals will take place at 6:00 p.m.
