In honor of wrestling being reinstated as an Olympic sport for the 2020 and 2024 Olympic games USA Wrestling will be counting down the top 10 moments in wrestling’s Olympic fight. 

Coming in at No. 9 is United 4 Wrestling, a series of exhibition matches between competitors from the United States, Canada and Russia that was held on May 19 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. 

United 4 Wrestling featured 13 senior level freestyle matches including four women’s matches and additionally contested four youth level matches. 

Highlights from United for wrestling include a thrilling, down to the wire bout between two-time NCAA Champion Jordan Oliver of the United States and 2013 World bronze Medalist Magomed Kurbanliev of Russia, a show stopping performance by three-time World or Olympic Champion Jordan Burroughs and match between two local LA youth women wrestlers that captivated the crowd to a standing ovation at the matches end. 

In the senior level competition the United States led the way winning seven total matches. Both Canada and Russia won three matches each on the day.

Several stars were in attendance supporting the cause. Actors Tom Arnold and Billy Baldwin alongside MMA stars Randy Couture, Chael Sonnen, Urijah Faber, Mark Munoz and Daniel Cormier and Super Bowl Champion Stephen Neal were among those in attendance.
