Tom Hudson of Babylon, N.Y., 28, a National Accounts Manager for TW Promotions, Inc. passed away in an automobile accident on Long Island on Thursday night.

TW Promotions manages the wrestling market for ASICS, USA Wrestling’s national sponsor, and has been an active leader in the wrestling community for decades. Hudson worked closely with USA Wrestling with many aspects of the ASICS sponsor partnership.

“We are devastated. He was a great young man. Tom did not wrestle, but he fit in very well here with us. He didn’t have prior wrestling knowledge, but he was very enthusiastic. He was so cordial and followed up tremendously. Tom was very humble and very interested in our sport and our people. He had everything going for him on all cylinders, and was mature beyond his years. He will be missed tremendously,” said Nick Gallo, President and CFO of TW Promotions.

“He was an integral part of TWP during his two years of employment here, working to fulfill equipment orders with our ASICS athletes, contracted colleges, and most importantly, the USA Wrestling sponsorship. Tom was known for his tremendous work ethic and a determination to get things done right away. He was also an integral part of our Resilite and Mat Rack Systems businesses in ordering, sales, social media, marketing and installations. From a business and personnel perspective, he will be impossible to replace. From a personal point of view, this loss will take us a long time to recover. Tom is someone we will always remember with love, respect and fondness, a great friend to us all,” said Neil Duncan, President and CEO of TW Promotions.

Tom was a graduate of Bay Shore High School, and SUNY-Farmingdale with a business degree. He competed in lacrosse. His hobbies included golf, softball, snowboarding, fantasy football, and was a fan of the NBA Miami Heat.

"Tom was my best friend, one of the few people I would vouch for and recommend when we had an opening at TW Promotions," said John Cummings, National Sales Manager for TW Promotions. "Although Tom never wrestled, he meshed into the company immediately. Once he took the job, he became a huge fan of wrestling. When I was out with him, he would proudly tell people about USA Wrestling and Jordan Burroughs. We really lost a great person, a hard worker and a great friend."

He left behind his father, mother and two sisters.

A wake will be held for Tom Hudson on Sunday, October 6 at the Chapey Funeral Home in West Islip, N.Y., from 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Monday from 11 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
