USOEC wins Eduardo Campbell Cup in Panama with three champions and six medalists

United States Olympic Education Center Greco-Roman wrestlers captured a team title and six individual medals this past Sunday (Sept. 29) while competing in Panama City, Panama in the Eduardo Campbell Senior International Cup, Sept. 28-29.

Gold medalists were Alex Sancho of Miami, Fla. (66 kg), Zac Nielsen of Zimmerman, Minn. (84 kg); and Parker Betts of St. Michaels, Minn. (120 kg) 

Silver medalists were Alec Noa of Lombard, Ill. (55 kg), Joseph DeNova from Fortson, Ga. (60 kg) and Tanner Andrews of North Aurora, Ill. (74 kg)

The USOEC finished the event with 57 points. A pre-selected group of Panamanian wrestlers took second with 55 points and the Herrera Province of Panama team followed with 39. Nine teams participated in the event. The USOEC’s six medalists were the most of any team in the tournament.

The USOEC athletes also participated in training while in Panama.
