Adeline Gray (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Gray earned her third straight medal at the World Wrestling Championships, collecting a bronze medal this past Friday night at Papp Laszlo Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

Gray registered a convincing 8-2 win over Turkey’s Yasemin Adar in her women’s freestyle bronze match at 72 kg/158.5 lbs.

Gray won her third straight World medal after earning a gold medal in 2012 and a bronze in 2011. She moved up a weight class this season after previously competing at 67 kg/147.5 lbs.

Gray’s performance helped the U.S. women finish third in the team race.
