BUDAPEST, Hungary – Three more U.S. men’s freestyle wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the second day of the World Wrestling Championships on Tuesday.

2009 World bronze medalist Tervel Dlagnev opens against Antonie Jaoude of Brazil

Dlagnev was fifth at the 2012 Olympic Games and fifth at the 2011 World Championships. He was a two-time NCAA Div. II champion for Nebraska-Kearney.

“He’s had some tough luck the last couple years, and still has been in the top five. What you’ll find now is a guy who is healthy, skilled, mentally focused and with good grit in the teeth. He is ready to battle,” said National Freestyle Coach Zeke Jones.
.
Reece Humphrey, who is competing in his second World Championships at 60 kg/132 lbs., opens with Mykola Aivazian of Ukraine, who was fifth at the 2013 European Championships and seventh in 2009 World Championships.

Humphrey reached the quarterfinal round of the World Championships in freestyle in 2011 and placed ninth. He was an NCAA runner-up for Ohio State.

“He looks good. He is real hungry right now. He went to the World Championships in 2011 and was on the cusp of reaching his goals and fell short. I know right now he is chomping at the bit to get on that podium,” said Jones.

Competing in his first Senior World Championships is veteran Keith Gavin at 84 kg/185 lbs., who faces Michael Tsotselashvili of Israel, a silver medalist at the 2013 Maccabiah Games.

Gavin was an NCAA champion for Pittsburgh.

“Keith is wrestling real well right now. A lot of people would call him a dark horse. I wouldn’t. He is in the medal hunt. He has to focus on his game plan, and I think he will be fine,” said Jones.
