Andy Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Bisek earned praise from U.S. National coaches for his work during the World Team Greco-Roman training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Bisek is scheduled to compete in his second World Championships later this month in Budapest, Hungary. He wrestled for the U.S. at the 2011 Worlds in Istanbul, Turkey.

“Andy has been working extremely hard preparing for the Worlds,” U.S. National Coach Steve Fraser said. “His great conditioning and toughness will be his biggest strength.”

Bisek is slated to wrestle on the final day of the Worlds on Sept. 22. Bisek competes at 74 kg/163 lbs.
