First five U.S. freestylers weigh in and receive draws for Cadet Worlds in Serbia

The first five men’s freestyle wrestlers from the United States have weighed in and received their draws for the first day of freestyle competition at the Cadet Worlds on Saturday.

Two of the U.S. wrestlers were also members of the U.S. Cadet World Greco-Roman Team and will be competing in their second event of the week.

At 69 kg/152 lbs., Jon Jay Chavez of Idaho won a Cadet World bronze medal in Greco-Roman earlier this week. He will begin his quest for another medal when he faces 2012 African Cadet champion Pieter Roedulf Roets of South Africa in his opening match.

The other athletes competing in both styles is Angus Arthur of Michigan at 85 kg/187.5 lbs., who opens in freestyle against 2013 Asian Cadet Champion Nuramagomed Gadzhiyev of Azerbaijan.

Competing at 42 kg/92.5 lbs. is Austin Gomez of Illinos, who has drawn 2013 Asian Cadet bronze medalist Younes Emamichoghaei of Iran in the first round.

Spencer Lee of Pennsylvania is the entry at 50 kg/110 lbs., and he starts off with Ravzan Domitru of Romania.

Also opening with a Romanian opponent is Sean Fausz of Kentucky, who will battle Arpad Yakab in the first match at 58 kg/127.75 lbs.
