Final five U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers weigh in and receive draws at Cadet Worlds in Serbia

ZRENJANIN, Serbia – The final five U.S. Cadet Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for Wednesday’s competition at the Cadet World Championships, which features the best 15-17 year old wrestlers in the world.

Two of the U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers competing on Wednesday are also members of the U.S. Cadet Freestyle Team and will seeking to win medals in both Olympic styles:  Jon Jay Chavez of Idaho at 69 kg/152 lbs. and Angus Arthur of Michigan at 85 kg/187.4 lbs.

Chavez opens with Antonio Kamenjasevic of Croatia, while Arthur will battle 2013 European Cadet bronze medalist Oskar Czyzewski of Poland in his first match.

Two athletes from the same school and club in Utah will also be competing on Wednesday, Tanner Cox at 46 kg/104.5 lbs. and Kimball Bastian at 76 kg/167.5 lbs. A third member of that club, Taylor LaMont at 54 kg/119 lbs. was in competition on Tuesday.

Cox will face 2013 European Cadet bronze medalist Temur Shavadze of Georgia in round one. Bastian battles Martin Opperman of South Africa in his first match.

Competing at 42 kg/92.5 lbs. is Cade Olivas of California, who opens with Nurbek Maksatbekov of Kyrgyzstan.
