Zach Dinan has been appointed as the United States Men’s Freestyle World Championships Team Manager for the 2016 Olympic Games cycle in.

“We’re very excited about Zach joining our staff as the Student Manager for this cycle through Rio,” U.S. men’s freestyle Head Coach Zeke Jones said.  “He’s a bright kid with a super future and will play an instrumental part of our success this cycle.  He’s one of the major players in our program.”

Dinan worked in 2013 as the USA Men’s Freestyle/U.S. Wrestling Foundation Student Manager where he worked at USA Wrestling organizing transportation and accommodations for wrestlers, while working with CPOW on the IOC vote to keep Olympic Wrestling. 

“It is an honor to be able to help out our country's best wrestlers as they compete across the globe,” Dinan said.  “I feel like I am living every high school wrestler's dream by actively supporting the USA freestyle team during the World Championships. I have gotten to know each World Team Member personally over the past two summers, and I consider it a privilege to contribute to their success as a manager and as a friend.”

The recent graduate of Horace Mann School also travelled on tours to Sochi, Russia and Vanadzor, Armenia as the Student Manager, helping wrestlers organize schedules and performing other services to assist out the delegation.

“Led by Zeke Jones, the United States Freestyle Wrestling Team is a potent combination of successful coaches and tenacious wrestlers,” said Dinan.  “I cannot wait to work with Jordan Burroughs, Brent Metcalf, and the other World Team Members as they fight to become World Champions in Budapest.”

After graduating high school with a 3.94 GPA and high honors, Dinan will attend Harvard University in the Fall.  He competed for four years on Horace Mann’s varsity wrestling squad and will walk on to compete for the NCAA Division I Harvard Crimson.
