Four Americans win gold, U.S. wins 2013 FILA Cadet women’s freestyle Pan American Championship

The U.S. women’s freestyle team edged host Colombia by three points to win the 2013 Pan American Wrestling Championship team title.  Four American athletes won gold, pacing the USA to team points while Colombia finished in second with 79 and Venezuela finished in third with 77.

Twin sisters Marina and Regina Doi won weight class titles at 38 kg/83.7 lbs. and 40 kg/88.1 lbs., Kayla Miracle won gold at 56 kg/123.4 lbs. and Hannah Gladden placed first at 65 kg/143.3 lbs. for the USA.

Arian Carpio at 52 kg/114.6 lbs., Jessika Rottier at 60 kg/132 lbs. and Autmn Rux at 70 kg/154.3 lbs. all won silver medals and Emily Pinson won bronze at 49 kg/108 lbs.

Also competing for the USA was McKenzie Bacich who placed fourth at 43 kg/94.7 lbs.

The 2013 Pan American Wrestling Championships wrap up on Sunday with the men’s freestyle competition.
