FARGO, N.D. – Four USA Wrestling Triple Crown hopefuls remained unbeaten in the Cadet Nationals freestyle tournament on Thursday at the Fargo Dome

Oklahoma’s Daton Fix (113 pounds), Texas’ Nick Reenan (152), Colorado’s Mark Hall (160) and Iowa’s Jacob Marnin (285) continued their winning ways through the second of three days in Cadet freestyle.

Those four wrestlers earned Cadet Folkstyle Nationals championships in April in Cedar Falls, Iowa before winning Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman titles on Monday in Fargo.

Reenan has advanced to the finals, where he will meet Trace Carello of Illinois.

Cadets will resume competition on Friday at 9 a.m. in Fargo. The Cadet finals are scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m.

The remaining Cadet finalists will be determined in Friday morning’s session.

2012 Triple Crown winner Lance Benick of Minnesota remained unbeaten as he continues to dominate at 220. Benick won a Cadet Nationals Greco title on Monday and won a Junior Folkstyle Nationals crown in April.

Illinois’ Larry Early (145) came up just short in his bid for a Triple Crown. Early went 7-1 in his pool. The wrestler who defeated him, Maryland’s Austin Kraisser, went 8-0 to land a spot in the finals. Early will wrestle in the third-place match on Friday.

Cadet wrestlers are 15 and 16 years old.
