USA Wrestling and the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) have launched a new partnership which will update and expand wrestling’s internet presence and content development program.
The first phase of this new partnership can be seen in some changes in TheMat.com, USA Wrestling’s popular website.
Those that visit TheMat.com regularly may notice some changes to USA Wrestling’s fan forums, as well as with USAWrestling.org, which has been the organization’s information portal for many years.
TheMatForums.com have now been integrated into the USOC internet framework, which services TeamUSA.org and many websites of other National Governing Bodies within the Olympic family.
There is absolutely no change in the way that TheMatForums.com work. Users will continue to use their current passwords and have access to all of the existing features. The only change is to provide users access to new content and services provided by the USOC network of websites.
USAWrestling.org has been totally redesigned. All of the great organizational information on the current site has been transferred into the USOC system, including content currently found in the following sections: Membership, Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Clubs, Team USA, Events, News, Financials and About Us.
However, the new USAWrestling.org also provides access to all of the content being produced by TheMat.com, including news, features, videos and more.
In the upcoming months, TheMat.com will be completely integrated into the USOC internet framework. The new USAWrestling.org is a preview of how TheMat.com will look and function when the transition has been completed.
You may see some of those changes already made on TheMat.com, including adjustments in color, layout and functionality of the home page.
As part of the relationship between USA Wrestling and the USOC, more resources will be made available for USA Wrestling to do much more within its media platforms and for its membership.
“USA Wrestling is excited to partner with the U.S. Olympic Committee with our media platforms. The changes with our fan forums and our information portal are just a beginning of the exciting things to come. One of USA Wrestling’s core business objectives is to network the wrestling community online, and this partnership will ultimately allow us to provide even more services to our members and the entire wrestling community,†said USA Wrestling Executive Director Rich Bender.
“The USOC is thrilled to be collaborating with USA Wrestling on its digital platforms and to help them better serve the wrestling community,†said Lisa Baird, USOC Chief Marketing Officer.
