The Oklahoma State Cowboys will play host to the 2013 World Team Trials at the historic Gallagher Iba Arena on June 21-22. 

Oklahoma State will have a number of former wrestlers competing on their home mat including 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Coleman Scott. 

Scott was a 2008 NCAA Champion for the Cowboys and runner-up at this year’s U.S. Open, losing a close decision to Reece Humphrey in the finals. Scott was last in action at the United 4 Wrestling event in Los Angeles where he lost a tough decision to the number one ranked wrestler in the world at the time Opan Sat of Russia.

Themat.com was able to catch up with Scott days before he takes to the mat to try and regain the top spot at 60 kg in America.

Another talented Cowboy entered in the World Team Trials field is two-time NCAA Champion Jordan Oliver. After finishing second at the U.S. Open in April, Oliver is excited to compete for the World Team spot at 66 kg on his home floor.

Oklahoma State wrestling head coach John Smith sees a great opportunity for his wrestlers to shine this weekend. Smith was a two-time Olympic champion himself, in addition to winning four gold medals at the World Championships. Smith owned the 62 kg weight class from 1987-1992. He has coached the Cowboys to five NCAA titles.
