Each youth sports organization and school program is different. But as a good coach and parent you know you can always pick up a lot of helpful tips and techniques by studying past winners.

Ocilla Wrestling Club, a team of less than 100 members successfully earned a Grant in the Fall 2012 season.Their team rallied all of their athlete’s parents and used their Facebook page to get the word out to family, friends and neighbors in the community. The Facebook posts and messages served as a reminder for everyone to participate andhelped rally others to do the same. In addition, they posted fliers around town and setup booths at wrestling tournaments and other local events to create awareness within their community of less than 4,000 people. 

To keep the momentum going in the final weeks, Ocilla Wrestling Club used the leaderboard as a way to motivate the rest of their community to participate. In the end, they came out on top and proved to the entire wrestling community that with a little hard work and determination it is possible for anyone to be successful in this program.
