UPDATE: Nowry, Smith reach Greco-Roman finals at Pan American Championships in Panama

PANAMA CITY, Panama – Two U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have reached the gold-medal finals of the Pan American Championships on Friday.
Earning a spot in the championship round are Max Nowry (Wheeling, Ill./New York AC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and Robbie Smith, Colorado Springs, Colo. (New York AC) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
Nowry, a University World champion, will battle Cristian Novas Feliz of the Dominican Republic in the finals.
Smith will face Ramon Garcia of the Dominican Republic in the finals.
The other five U.S. wrestlers will compete in bronze medal matches. They include:
• Jamel Johnson, Greensboro, N.C. (YES Wrestling) at 60 kg/132 lbs.
• Ben Sanchez, Colorado Springs, Colo. (New York AC) at 66 kg/145.5 lbs.
• Jake Fisher, Minneapolis, Minn. (Minnesota Storm) at 74 kg/163 lbs.
• Jordan Holm, Minneapolis, Minn.(Minnesota Storm) at 84 kg/185 lbs.
• Caylor Williams, Melbourne, Fla. (YES Wrestling) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
The U.S. team is coached by National Greco-Roman Coach Steve Fraser and U.S. Army coach Shon Lewis, both who live in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"Everyone has to contribute in this evening's final session. If we wrestle like we can, and win most of our final matches, we can beat Cuba and Venezuela for the title," said Fraser.
