Wrestlers in the Senior, Junior, Cadet, and Kids divisions will have the chance to compete in the annual Regional Championships beginning March 29 and concluding with the last event on June 22.

Regional events often serve as qualifiers for national championships around the U.S. Visit individual events’ websites for information on eligibility, divisions, registration, event schedules and more. The full list of upcoming regional and national events is also available on TheMat.com.

The United States is broken into six regions: West, Southern Plains, Central, Northern Plains, Southeast and Northeast. For more regional information, visit USAWrestling.org.

All of the regional events are open to all competitors. Cadet and Junior competitors can place in the top three in any regional event and automatically qualify for the ASICS/Vaughan Junior & Cadet National Championships.

However, for the Kids division, in order to qualify for the ASICS Kids FS/GR National Championships, a wrestler must compete in his or her own regional. Kids division wrestlers who compete outside of their regional without competing at their own do not qualify for Kids Nationals. Wrestlers should check their state's policies for qualifying for and attending their regional championship.

At the Senior level, two regional events are happening in May for men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers. They are:
• Northeast Regional Championships in East Stroudsburg, Penn., on May 3-5.
• Northern Plains Regional Championships will be May 9-11 in Waterloo, Iowa. The Senior division of this event is an open tournament and is a qualifier for the 2013 Senior World Team Trials.
