Nominee Bios

Jaxon Cole

Hometown: Coalville, UT

Team: North Summit Youth Wrestling

Cole is one of the most polished youth wrestlers in the country. This Utah native has won his fair share of championships over the past season, as he has solidified his spot as not only one of the best youth wrestlers in Utah, but also in the country. Cole started off the year by capturing the Beehive Brawl Championship and carried that momentum into the Utah Youth Super State Championships, where he took home the 75-pound championship. Cole also won the Utah Freestyle and Greco-Roman State Championship and the ASICS/USAW Kids Freestyle National Championship. Cole has already taken home four championships this year, which includes a Salt Lake Slam title and a Utah Jr. High State Championship and Utah Youth Super State Championship.

Drew Eller

Hometown: Parker, CO

Team: Parker Sons of Thunder

Eller is a member of the 2011 Youthee Team of the Year winner, the Parker Sons of Thunder. Diagnosed with lymphoma when he was three-years-old, Eller has overcome the adversity and is proving to be one of the best youth wrestlers in the country. Undefeated in the open division during the 2012 season, Eller captured a number of impressive championships. The 11-year old won multiple Colorado State Championships, which included a Colorado Triple-Crown (Folkstyle, Frestyle, and Greco-Roman) and took first place during the ASICS/USA Wrestling Kids Greco-Roman National Championships. Drew was one of a select few that got to accompany Team USA on a 15-day trip to Germany over the summer, where he went undefeated and won both a Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Title.

Frankie Gissendanner

Hometown: Rochester, NY

Team: Penfield Patriots

Gissendanner is one of the best youth wrestlers in the Mid-Atlantic. The 120-pound grappler from New York has been making a name for himself over the past few seasons, as he’s won a number of tournaments like the Ohio Tournament of Champions and the Gene Mills National Championship, along with being a 3x Brute Empire Nationals Champion. The New York State Champion wrestled this season on the varsity circuit and won the Top Hat Tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. He finished 7th this season during the New York High School Eastern States Wrestling Classic.

Cade Olivas

Hometown: Glendora, CA

Team: SCWAY

Olivas is regarded by many as the best youth wrestling talent in the country. Winning every tournament he’s been entered in over the past year, Olivas lays claims to some of the countries most prestigious awards. In 2012, Olivas posted an impressive record of 292-1 and won his 7th consecutive National Championship when he took home the 80-pound title at the Cliff Keen Tulsa Nationals. The multiple time California State Champion also defended his Super 32 championship this past October when he won the 85-pound title with an 11-5 victory over Anthony Madrigal from Illinois. This past November, Olivas took home a Tulsa Kickoff Classic Championship and went undefeated with a 10-0 record in helping his team to a 2nd place finish at the VAC National Holiday Duals.
