PENN VS. PENN STATE COLLEGE MATCH TO BE AVAILABLE ON INTERNET VIA VIDEO STREAMING

The University that invented the computer and hosted the first intercollegiate wrestling tournament are putting the two together, as the University of Pennsylvania will be video streaming the premier Eastern collegiate dual meet for this season when No. 10 Pennsylvania hosts No. 11 Penn State, Saturday, December 11 at The Palestra at 6:00 p.m.

Fans can click on http://www.inphiladelphia.com/allmedia/Sportsfeed/Penn.asp at noon on Sunday, December 12 to watch the Penn-Penn State matchup.

The dual-meet battle for early-season state bragging rights marks the first head-to-head competition between the two schools since 1954, when the Nittany Lions won, 28-0, in The Palestra.

The matchup is also the first dual meet for the Quakers this season. Penn opened the season by capturing the Ivy Kickoff Classic title and finished second at the Keystone Classic the following weekend.

The Nittany Lions are 0-2 in dual-meet competition this season, dropping a close 19-16 decision to No. 12 Lehigh and falling 19-14 to No. 13 Edinboro University.

THE matchup will feature some of the top wrestlers in the nation, as seven grapplers are ranked in the top 16 of their respective weight classes in the latest InterMat Wrestling NCAA I Individual rankings.

Penn boasts four wrestlers in the top 11, led by senior Brett Matter (Delran, N.J.), who is ranked No. 4 at 157 lbs. Matter won individual titles at both the Ivy Kickoff and Keystone Classics and is 8-0 so far this season. Senior Bandele Adeniyi-Bada (Kent, Ohio), the nation's third-ranked heavyweight, also captured titles at both events and is looking to avenge an overtime loss to PSU's Mark Janus at last year's Penn State Open. Janus is currently ranked 12th nationally.

Juniors Rick Springman (Norristown, Pa.) at 174 and Mike Fickell (Columbus, Ohio), who won the 197-lb. title and was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the Keystone Classic, are ranked No. 5 and 11 in the nation, respectively.

Nittany Lion senior Jeremy Hunter is the top-ranked wrestler at 125, while classmate Jason Betz is listed at No. 16. Hunter is a two-time All-American and posted a 33-1 record a year ago, suffering his only defeat in the finals of the NCAA Championships. Betz is a three-time NCAA qualifier.
