The USA Wrestling Weekly broadcast for Friday, February 22, 2013, has been posted for fans to enjoy.

USA Wrestling Weekly is a half-hour news broadcast which is produced on a weekly basis, and debuted in January 2011. Presented in a news format, it provides updated information on USA Wrestling activities, as well as a variety of feature segments.

This week’s show included the following feature segments:
• Complete followup on the Keep Wrestling In the Olympics effort in the United States and around the world.
• FILA President Raphael Martinetti of Switzerland steps down. Nenad Lalovic of Serbia is elected Acting President. Stan Dziedzic of the USA is named Lalovic’s assistant. Jim Scherr of the USA is added to the FILA Bureau.
• The Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling (CPOW) is formed to oversee the effort in the United States to keep wrestling in the Olympics. Bill Scherr is named chairman and Mike Novogratz is named spokesman.
• FILA awards the 2015 World Wrestling Championships to USA Wrestling and the city of Las Vegas, Nev. with interview with National Events Director Pete Isais
• Coverage of the Ukrainian Memorial International in Kiev, Ukraine, where the USA won four medals including champions Alyssa Lampe and Helen Maroulis, with interviews of Lampe and National Coach Terry Steiner.
• Coverage of the Dan Kolov International in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which featured gold medalists Nick Marable, Wynn Michalak and Jon Reader.
• Coverage of the Cerro Pelado International and the Granma Cup in Havana, Cuba, including six medals in freestyle and two in Greco-Roman. Winning a freestyle title was Kevin LeValley.
• Coverage of the Klippan Lady Open in Klippan, Sweden, where the USA won eight medals in the Senior and FILA Cadet divisions.
• Coverage of the NWCA National Duals Regionals, with four teams advancing to the finals: Oklahoma State, Cornell, Missouri and Virginia Tech. The seeds have been set for the National Duals finals in Minnesota this weekend.
• More updates on great U.S. international wrestlers in celebration of African-American History Month.

The USA Wrestling Weekly Photo of the Week contest winner was Jody Mackowiak, with a photo depicting 13-year old Haden Mackowiak of the Navy Junior club scoring a pin with a cradle.
The show is moderated by veteran wrestling broadcaster Scott Casber and is scheduled for distribution each Friday on TheMat.com.

Each episode will also be posted on USA Wrestling’s YouTube Channel. In addition, USA Wrestling Weekly will be offered to a variety of websites, and will also be available to television networks across the nation.
