INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA has released the initial standings for the 2013 NCAA Most Dominant Wrestler Awards and the second round of standings for the most falls and tech falls within Divisions I, II and III. These awards will be presented in March at the respective NCAA Wrestling Championships. 
 
The Most Dominant Wrestler standings are calculated by adding the total number of points awarded through match results and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled. Points awarded per match are as follows:
 
* Fall, forfeit, injury default or DQ = 6 points (-6 points for a loss)
* Tech falls = 5 points (-5 points for a loss)
* Major decision = 4 points (-4 points for a loss)
* Decision = 3 points (-3 points for a loss)
 
This week a minimum of 13 matches are required to be eligible for the Most Dominant Wrestler standings. That required match total will increase by one per week until 18 matches is reached. Athletes redshirting the 2013 season are not eligible for any of the award standings.
 
In the Most Dominant standings, Ohio State’s Logan Stieber has a substantial lead in Division I with an average of 5.5714 points. The 133-pounder’s tally is the highest across all divisions. Trailing Stieber in Division I is Penn State’s Andrew Alton (149 pounds) with a second-best 5.0667 point average and 197-pounder Dustin Kilgore of Kent State with a 5.0357 point average.
 
Shamus O’Grady of St. Cloud State has a Division II-leading average of 4.8235 points. O’Grady edged out Travis McKillop of Pittsburgh-Johnstown this week who has an average of 4.3077 points at 184 pounds. 
 
Division III’s Jordan Koranda of Wisconsin-Stevens Point averages 5.4 points, which is a division-best and second-best among all wrestlers. Koranda’s 5.4 points average is a 0.65 point lead over other grapplers in Division III as second-place is currently held by Ohio Northern’s Kyle Kwiat with 4.75 points. 
 
In the falls standings, Kent State’s Dustin Kilgore leads all divisions with 14 pins. The 197-pounder holds a four-pin lead in the Division I standings over Cornell’s Kyle Dake and A.J. Schopp of Edinboro, who have each posted 10 falls a piece.  
 
At 125 pounds, Max Byrd of Ashland is the Division II leader with eight falls. He is closely followed by two wrestlers – Jan Steven Ulinski (Findlay) and Shamus O’Grady (St. Cloud State), with seven pins each. 
 
Augustana’s Jordan Richardson leads Division III with a dozen pins at 174-pounds, just two behind the Division I leader. Korando and Nick Scotto of Wesleyan follow with 11 pins a piece. 
In the tech fall standings, Penn State’s David Taylor (165 pounds) and Cornell’s Nahshon Garrett (125 pounds) each own six, but Taylor holds the advantage in the standings, achieving those wins in 37:59 compared to Garrett’s cumulative time of 39:17. Seven other wrestlers follow Taylor and Garrett with five tech falls a piece. 
 
Dylan D’Urso of Mercyhurst is the lone leader in Division II tech falls, with four. 
 
Kwiat is the cross-divisional leader in tech falls with 10, four more than any other wrestler in Division III.
