Word is getting out about an exciting new event designed to inspire and entertain, the Wrestling Nation Champions Tour at the Tustin High School Performance Arena in Tustin, Calif. on December 19.

2012 Olympic wrestling medalists Jake Varner, Jordan Burroughs, and Coleman Scott join World Champion Adeline Gray and MMA and Hollywood Star Randy Couture in “only one of its kind” event.

Burroughs and Couture were together last weekend for a series of appearances in Southern California, helping to promote this event and encourage more people to come out and enjoy the show.

They appeared together on a morning show on KTLA in Los Angeles, and also were at a number of wrestling related events in the region, talking up the upcoming show.

“It is going to be awesome, here in Southern California,” said Burroughs during his promotional visit. “We will be able to showcase our abilities and characteristics off the mat, things that helped us get to London and perform well. Explosive workouts, strength and conditioning, a bunch of cool things.

“Anything I can do to promote the sport of wrestling is great, and certainly this event does that,” said Couture. “The sport is one of the most important sports for character building of our young athletes. Like everything else in life, you get out of it what you put in it. Wrestling teaches you that first-hand.”

What will the athletes be doing at this event? 

They aren’t saying right now. We know they won’t be competing and they won’t be giving a clinic. What they are saying is that this will show some amazing skills with incredible displays of strength, speed, athleticism and more. 

“U.S. Wrestling Olympians are among the strongest, most explosive and entertaining athletes in the world”, said USA Wrestling’s director of development Larry Nugent. “If you are in a position to witness the rock concert atmosphere at The Wrestling Nation Champions Tour on December 19th take advantage of the opportunity. It will be a historic showcase by our sport’s greatest stars!”

The program includes an innovative ASICS physical skills test for the inner wrestler in each of us to assess your skills. ASICS, USA Wrestling’s Official Corporate Sponsor, will give away footwear and apparel to the first 100 fans to challenge their skills with the Olympians. In addition to the ASICS challenge, there will be other challenge stations geared to engage wrestling fans of all ages!
