USA Wrestling and California USA Wrestling are making a special offer to its member athletes, coaches and officials to attend the highly-anticipated Wrestling Nation Champions Tour, set for Wednesday, Dec. 19 in Tustin, Calif.

This special event will feature 2012 Olympic wrestling medalists Jake Varner, Jordan Burroughs, and Coleman Scott, World Champion Adeline Gray, MMA and Hollywood Star Randy Couture and others in a program that is both exciting and unique.

USA Wrestling member coaches and officials will be admitted free of charge to the event. In addition to that, USA Wrestling member athletes will be able to purchase admission at the discounted rate of $10.00. 

Membership in USA Wrestling must be verified before these offers are available. These two offers are exclusive to USA Wrestling members and can only be gained on the day of event. This offer is subject to availability on the day of the event.

This offer is a substantial discount from tickets offers available to the general public. 

One of the special guests is California native and local hero Jake Varner, who won the Olympic gold medal at 211.5 pounds in freestyle wrestling at the 2012 London Games.

Varner was a star for Bakersfield High School, winning two state championships for the Drillers. He was very active in California USA Wrestling’s programs growing up, competing on both the state and national levels. Varner went on to win two NCAA titles for Iowa State, a World bronze medal in 2011 and the Olympic gold medal in 2012.

California USA Wrestling is proud of his achievements, and is working hard to provide all wrestlers in the state with the same kind of opportunities.

Another huge star who was a product of California USA Wrestling programs who has confirmed participation is World champion freestyle wrestler, and three-time Super Bowl football champion Stephen Neal.
 
A product of San Diego High School, Neal won a Junior National freestyle title representing California USA Wrestling. Neal was an two-time NCAA heavyweight champion and four-time All-American for Cal-State Bakersfield, who went on to become a 1999 World champion for Team USA. Next came a 10-year career in the NFL as a starting offensive lineman for the New England Patriots, which won three titles with Neal on the team. Now retired, Neal remains very active in wrestling, especially in support of the wrestling program at his alma mater.

This “one of its kind” event will be held at the Tustin High School Performance Arena in Tustin, California on December 19. This is the final stop of the Olympic Team Thanks America tour, which also included public events in Orlando, Fla. and New York, N.Y.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the an innovative ASICS physical skills test for the inner wrestler in each of us to assess your skills.  ASICS, USA Wrestling’s Official Corporate Sponsor, will give away footwear and apparel to the first 100 fans to challenge their skills with the Olympians. In addition to the ASICS challenge, there will be other challenge stations geared to engage wrestling fans of all ages!
