WATERLOO, Iowa - The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum is auctioning off five very rare items to commemorate the 40-year anniversary of Dan Gable’s Olympic gold medal and to honor Dan Gable Day.

Gable won an Olympic title at the 1972 Munich Olympics at 149.5 pounds without surrendering a point. Dan Gable Day was celebrated at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable on October 25, 2012. Gable was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on October 25, 2012.

Each item has special significance to Dan Gable’s wrestling career. 
All proceeds from the auctions benefit the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum, a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the sport of wrestling.

Limited edition Dan Gable singlet signed by Dan Gable
This singlet is one-of-a-kind. Of the 100 limited edition singlets, this is the only one that was signed with a gold marker. It is numbered 72/100 and signed by Dan Gable in gold to commemorate his gold medal at the '72 Munich Olympics.

This one-of-a-kind wrestling collage features Dan Gable throughout different phases of his career as an athlete and as a coach. It also features his famous quote: “Once You Have Wrestled Everything Else In Life Is Easy.”

Fact: A.C. Slater almost wrestled at Iowa. This t-shirt, signed by Dan Gable, celebrates A.C. Slater’s almost wrestling career at the University of Iowa on the hit television show “Saved by the Bell”. In fact, Mario Lopez (who played A.C. Slater on the show) was a high school wrestler.
