U.S. quotes from the session

63 kg - Cary Kolat, Morgantown, W.Va. - "It was my first match, so I got a little sluggish in the second period and gave up a point. I can tell he got tired near the end and he got slack and allowed me to step over and pin him."

69 kg - Lincoln McIlravy, Iowa City, Iowa - " I felt pretty good physically. I didn't get things going offensively as I would like. I was trying to make things easy. I'm not quite peaking yet. I get a little better each week. I would be concerned if I was peaking. I need to peak for Sydney."

76 kg - Joe Williams, Iowa City, Iowa - "I didn't do anything different this match. Being the second round, you need to come out that much harder. I felt pretty good. I felt in control most of the match, except for one takedown I gave him when I rushed an attempt to sping behind one of his shots. I should have controlled the position better and been more patient."

85 kg - Les Gutches, Colorado Springs, Colo. - "I felt OK. It was my first competition back after being out for awhile, so I felt a little more nervous than normal. I'm just trying to find my rhythem, trying to find a good one."

130 kg - Kerry McCoy, State College, Pa. - "I felt great. I was doing the things I need to do and working on things I need to work on. When you do that, things seem to happen when they should."

National Freestyle Coach Bruce Burnett - "Our guys came out ready to wrestle. When you go against the top few teams in the world, you don't need to do much to motivate them. You don't need to say much at all. Even the matches we lost, our guys were battling and fighting with heart."
