Trent Paulson hired as club coach and fundraiser for Cyclone Wrestling Club

Former Cyclone National Champion and World Team Member Trent Paulson has been hired as the Club Coach and Fundraiser for the Cyclone Wrestling Club it was announced by CWC President Gary McCall.

 "Trent is a very important part of our future vision of the Cyclone Wrestling Club," said McCall. "We are working to build the proper foundation to bring in Olympic and World level wrestlers to ISU and adding Trent Paulson as our CWC head wrestling coach and fundraiser will help our vision become a reality."

After completing a stellar All-American career at Iowa State where he won the National Championship, Paulson continued competing and captured the crown at the US Open and became a World Team Member. Most recently, Paulson has been part of the support staff with the Iowa State University wrestling team.

"I am so excited for this great opportunity before me, I take great honor in becoming CWC's head wrestling coach and fundraiser," said Paulson. "My goal is to eventually have seven Olympic hopefuls training full time at Iowa State University representing the Cyclone Wrestling Club proudly and bringing many senior level accolades back to Ames, IA! Those seven athletes will assist me in mentoring, teaching and pushing current Cyclone athletes to pursue higher levels of excellence. I will pursue senior athletes that not only can make World and Olympic Teams but also athletes that will represent the CWC, Iowa State, and the community well." 

In his new role, Paulson will work to increase memberships, corporate partnerships and high level donations for the Club as well as focus on recruiting, retaining and training Olympic hopefuls at Iowa State through the Cyclone Wrestling Club.
