The 2012 Olympic Games wrestling competition in London, England provided many exciting moments for American wrestling fans, as Team USA came home with four Olympic medals, including two individual Olympic champions.

The U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team wants to thank the American fans for their support through a series of appearances this fall across the nation.

The Olympic Wrestling Team Thanks America celebration tour has been set, with stops in upcoming weeks in Orlando, Fla., New York City and Los Angeles. This project is spearheaded by the United States Wrestling Foundation (USWF), in cooperation with USA Wrestling.

“The Olympic Wrestling Team Thanks America celebration tour is intended to thank our supporters for the great results that their contributions led to in London," said Kevin Hummer, Vice Chairman of the United States Wrestling Foundation and the celebration tour manager. "We also want to let the wrestling public and our youth wrestlers interact with their heroes and hear their stories firsthand.”

At each of the cities, there will be a public rally held, which will be open to the general public. Select members of the U.S. Olympic Team, including Olympic medalists, will be on site to meet fans in person, sign autographs and share their stories in person.

In addition, a private reception will be held afterwards in each host city for those interested in supporting the United States Wrestling Foundation.

The first tour stop is in the Orlando, Fla. community where a public rally is set for West Orange High School on Friday, November 2, starting at 4:15 p.m. West Orange High School is located at 1625 South Beulah Road , Winter Garden, FL 24787. Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs is scheduled to appear at this public rally, along with National Freestyle Coach Zeke Jones.

The second tour stop is in New York, N.Y., where a public rally is set for the Beat the Streets Manhattan Training Center in Manhattan, starting at 4:00 p.m. The address of the Beat the Streets Manhattan Training Center is 145 Thompson Street, New York, N.Y. 10012. A free wrestling clinic will be held, followed by the public rally, both open to all. All four Olympic medalists are expected, champions Jordan Burroughs and Jake Varner, plus bronze medalists Coleman Scott and Clarissa Chun, along with other Olympians.

The final tour stop is in Los Angeles, Calif. on Wednesday, December 19. The site of the public rally and the expected Olympic Team guests is currently being finalized, but it is expected to be an outstanding program for wrestling fans.

“With this tour we not only celebrate the triumphs of 2012, we also begin the journey to 2016 in Rio," said Jeff Waters, Chairman of the United States Wrestling Foundation. “The USWF is a newly formed Foundation consisting of business leaders with a wrestling background and many of our wrestling legends who are joining forces to support USA Wrestling athletes in their quest for Olympic gold.”
