Veterans World Greco Champ Valentin Kalika named Greco Developmental Coach for California USA Wrestling Inc

Valentin Kalika of Laguna Niguel, Calif. has been named as the Greco Developmental Coach for California USA Wrestling Inc. 

Kalika served on the California USA Wrestling national Staff in 2012. 

As the new California USA Wrestling Greco Developmental Coach Kalika will join Olympic Silver medalist Stephen Abas to develop the Future Olympian program in the State of California. 

Kalika returned to the mat for the first time in over two decades at the 2009 U.S. Veterans National Championships, where he won a national title. Later that same year  he won a gold medal at 69 kg/152 lbs. in Division D (51-55 years old at the Veterans World Greco-Roman Championships.

Valentin has continued his winning ways today, by passing his skills to a wide array of talented group of athletes. One of those athletes is 4 time Fargo Champion, Triple Crown Winner, Outstanding wrestler Aaron Pico. 
 
“Adding both Valentin Kalika, and Steven Abas to lead our New Future Olympian program is outstanding for wrestling, but even better for kids in the State of California.  As we continue to grow the new program, and break ground on others these two coaches will be one of our keys to our success and to our athletes” said USA Wrestling State Chairman Duane Morgan.
