Sigman, Williams receive draws for FILA Golden Grand Prix Finals in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan – The two U.S. athletes competing in men’s freestyle have weighed in and received their draws for the 2012 Heydar Aliyev Golden Grand Prix Finals, which begins on Friday.
Les Sigman (State College, Pa./Nittany Lion WC) has weighed in at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. There are eight athletes in his weight class.
Sigman has previously always competed at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. Sigman was a member of the 2010 U.S. World Team and placed second in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
He opens against Arslanbek Aliev of Russia. Aliev was second in the 2009 FILA Golden Grand Prix Finals. This year, he has won two international events, the Ali Aliev Tournament and the Moscow Lights Tournament.
Caylor Williams (Greensboro, N.C./YES Wrestling) will open against Eduard Bazrov of Russia in the opening match at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. There are nine athletes in his weight class.
Bazrov won a gold medal at the 2011 New York AC International and a bronze medal at the 2012 Dave Schultz Memorial, and added a gold medal at the Olympia Tournament in Greece.
Williams is a nationally ranked Greco-Roman wrestler, and will also be competing in this tournament in Greco-Roman on Sunday.
