Pattaya, Thailand -- Four American Greco-Roman wrestlers received their draws for Tuesday’s competition at the 2012 FILA Junior World Championships at the Eastern National Sports Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand.

Isaiah Varona, Jesse Thielke, Geordan Speiller and Marcus Finau will all compete on Sept. 4 with action beginning at 1 p.m. local time.

Varona (Miami, Fla./Varona Trained) will compete at 50 kg/110 lbs. and will open up competition at the bottom of the bracket against Korea’s Hyeok-Jin Jeon. Jeon finished fifth at the 2012 Asian Junior Championships in Kazakhstan at the end of May. The winner will face either Iran’s Ashkan Gholikiani, an Asian Junior bronze medalist, or Azerbaijan’s Murat Bazarov, the 2011 Cadet World silver medalist.

Thielke (Germantown, Wis./Sunkist Kids), making his fourth appearance on the U.S. Junior World Team, will compete at 60 kg/132 lbs. and his opening bout will be against China’s Lixin Tai. Thielke’s draw is somewhat favorable, as Tai did not represent China at the Asian Championships. Th winner will face either Austria’s Anton Marchl, who was 23rd at the European Juniors, or Kristijan Simatic of Croatia, who was eighth at the European Juniors.

Speiller (Boca Raton, Fla./Florida Jets), who like Varona is a recent high school graduate, will open up with Russia’s Islam Charaev in the opening round at 74 kg/163 lbs. Charaev is the reigning European Junior champion. The winner will face either Lithuania’s Arturas Sekus or Turkmenistan’s Doyran Yaylymov, who finished 12th at the Asian Senior Championships in February.

Finau (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/USOEC) will face Ukraine’s Samir Voloshanin in the opening match at 96 kg/211 lbs. Voloshanin was the 2010 European Cadet Champion. The winner will face off against either Dilshod Hakimov of Uzbekistan or Israel’s Naor Gurielashvili, who was 12th at the European Juniors.
