There are a number of different fundraising events set up this week in Oklahoma to support Olympic freestyle wrestler Sam Hazewinkel, which will help fund the costs for his family to attend the London Olympic Games.

Each of these fundraisers are designed to provide those in the community a chance to assist an Olympian from their community. Sam Hazewinkel and his family live in Norman, Okla., where he trains and coaches at the University of Oklahoma.

July 16th, 17th, 18th

Eat at Freddy's Frozen Custard from 6:00-9:00 pm. The participating Freddy's include Edmond location on 2nd street and South Oklahoma City at 9000 S. Western.  A coupon must be presented at the time of purchase to attach to receipt. These coupons will be available inside the restaurant.

July 21st
3 on 3 Basketball tournament
$30 per team
Location:  University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) Wellness Center
Concessions will be available for purchase
T-shirts, shorts, and posters will be available for purchase

July 22nd
Fundraising dinner at 6:00pm in UCO Wellness Center
$25 a person/plate
Silent Auction will also be held

 -T-shirts are on sale via facebook "Rachel Fowler Hazewinkel" and "Sam Hazewinkel" for $25 a piece.  This is includes cost of shipping.

-Cradlegear.com is selling t-shirts and shorts.  Half of the proceeds go to Sam.

Sam Hazewinkel was a college wrestling star for Oklahoma, where he was a four-time All-American, placing second in 2007 and third from 2004-06. He is originally from Pensacola, Fla.

Hazewinkel was a national champion and 2008 Olympic Trials runner-up in Greco-Roman, before switching to freestyle during this Olympic cycle.

He is a second-generation Olympian, as both his father Dave and his uncle Jim were members of the 1968 and 1972 U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling teams.
