Three major leaders within wrestling will serve in the role of Team Leaders for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Teams.

They are Mike Novogratz of New York, N.Y. (men's freestyle), Dave Barry of Hoboken, N.J. (Greco-Roman) and Kim Martori-Wickey of Phoenix, Ariz. (women's freestyle).

All three have been Team Leaders at the World Championships the last three years, and have played a key role in the U.S. team success during this Olympic quadrennium.

All will be with our U.S. teams during their stay in London, England, and handling numerous important tasks for the team during the Olympic Games.

MEN'S FREESTYLE TEAM LEADER
Mike Novogratz of New York, N.Y.

Mike Novogratz of New York, N.Y., has been named Team Leader for Men’s Freestyle Wrestling for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Novograts has served as Team Leader for the U.S. Women’s Freestyle World Team for the last three World Championships (2009 – Herning, Denmark, 2010 – Moscow Russia and 2011 – Istanbul, Turkey).

Novogratz has been an innovative leader in promoting wrestling and raising funds for the sport.

He is the driving force behind the Beat the Streets Gala events, which raises money for youth and high school wrestling in New York City. Novogratz has developed a wrestling match as part of the Gala. In 2010, an all-star dual was held on the U.S.S. Intrepid aircraft carrier, raising $800,000. In 2011, a USA vs. Russia dual meet was held in Times Square, the first sports event ever held in this famous setting, raising over $1 million. In 2012, a U.S. Olympic Team Wrestle-off was held in Times Square, along with another USA vs. Russia dual, raising over $1.4 million

Novogratz is a founder and the Chairman of the Board of the Beat the Streets program in New York City, which has placed dozens of wrestling programs in high schools and junior high schools in the city. This program is now being launched in many other cities. 

He has been a leader in the development of the Living the Dream Medal Fund, which was launched in 2009, serving as a steward for the program. World and Olympic medalists for the United States receive bonuses from this fund, with a guarantee of $250,000 for any American gold medalist in wrestling at the 2012 Olympics in London. 

He was named USA Wrestling Man of the Year in 2010. Novogratz was inducted as an Outstanding American by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007. 

He was a Virginia state runner-up as a high school wrestler, and competed for Princeton University in college, reaching the round of 12 at the NCAA Div. I Wrestling Championships. 

Professionally, he has been a major success in the financial services industry. He is a principal and a member of the board of directors of Fortress Investment Group LLC and Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Fortress Macro Fund and the Drawbridge Global Macro Fund.

GRECO-ROMAN TEAM LEADER
Dave Barry, Hoboken, N.J.

Dave Barry has been named Team Leader for Greco-Roman Wrestling for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Barry has served as Team Leader for the U.S. Greco-Roman World Team for the last three World Championships (2009 – Herning, Denmark, 2010 – Moscow, Russia and 2011 – Istanbul, Turkey).

Along with Freestyle Team Leader Mike Novogratz, Barry has provided financial support to a variety of Team USA projects, affecting programs for all styles. Included have been additional training and competition opportunities as well as expanded direct support for elite athletes. 

Barry serves as a steward for the Living the Dream Medal Fund, among the group of wrestling supporters who are financially backing the bonus payment program for athletes in all three styles. Olympic and World medalists for the United States received bonuses from this fund, with a guarantee of $250,000 for any American gold medalist in wrestling at the 2012 Olympics in London. 

Barry is also a trustee with the Beat the Streets organization in New York City, having served as a board member. Beat the Streets has placed dozens of wrestling programs in high schools and junior high schools in the city, and has impacted the lives of thousands of young people throughout New York City.

Barry was named USA Wrestling Man of the Year in 2011. He serves as a Board member with the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Barry is also chairman of the Edge Hoboken Wrestling Club.

He wrestled for Columbia University, where he served as team captain, a first-team All Ivy member and a two-time EIWA place winner. He continues to be a major supporter of the wrestling team at Columbia.

Barry is President of Ironstate Development Company, a Hoboken based real estate development company. The company owns and manages thousands of residential units throughout the New York/New Jersey region and currently has approximately $1 billion in development. 

WOMEN'S FREESTYLE TEAM LEADER
Kim Martori-Wickey of Phoenix, Ariz.

Kim Martori-Wickey has been named Team Leader for Women’s Freestyle Wrestling for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Martori-Wickey has served as Team Leader for the U.S. Women’s Freestyle World Team for the last three World Championships (2009 – Herning, Denmark, 2010 – Moscow Russia and 2011 – Istanbul, Turkey).

She serves as Executive Director for the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club, one of the world's most successful international wrestling clubs. The club is based in Phoenix, but has athletes and coaches who train all across the nation. Members of the Sunkist Kids compete in all three Olympic styles of the sport (men's freestyle, women's freestyle, men's Greco-Roman).

Numerous Sunkist Kids athletes have won World and Olympic medals for the United States in all three styles. Since its inception in the 1970s, the Sunkist Kids have placed earned over 170 U.S. World and Olympic team berths.

Wrestlers who became Olympic champions while competing for the Sunkist Kids include Cael Sanderson, Rulon Gardner, Kendall Cross, John Smith, Kenny Monday, Dave Schultz, Mark Schultz and Henry Cejudo.

As Executive Director, Martori-Wickey works directly with athletes and coaches concerning their training, travel and competition needs. She manages many aspects of the organization, including scheduling and communication with the team members.

She was named 2005 Woman of the Year by USA Wrestling.

She helps in organizing and managing major wrestling events that are sponsored by the Sunkist Kids. She manages the annual Sunkist Kids/ASU International Open, a major international wrestling competition held each fall in Tempe, Ariz. She is also active in youth tournaments sponsored by the club, along with duties with a variety of camps, clinics and training opportunities that the Sunkist Kids provide for wrestlers of all ages. 

The daughter of Sunkist Kids founder and former USA Wrestling president Art Martori, she has been involved in wrestling her entire life. She joined the management team with the Sunkist Kids over a decade ago.

She has a bachelor's degree in agriculture economics from the Univ. of Arizona, and has professional experience in a variety of businesses. She is also very active in charity work in Arizona.
