OREM, Utah – The nation’s top youth wrestlers in Kids wrestling will come together for the 2012 ASICS Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships at the UCCU Events Center, June 25-27.

National titles and All-American honors will be up for grabs in three age divisions: Intermediate (9-10 years old), Novice (11-12 years old), Schoolboy/girl (13-14 years old), with a Bantam Festival (7-8 years).

Wrestlers competing in this event must have wrestled in their designated Regional freestyle or Greco-Roman championship.

USA Wrestling’s coveted Kids Triple Crown is at stake, awarded annually to wrestlers won win USA Wrestling national titles in the three styles in one year: folkstyle, Greco-Roman and freestyle. The first leg of the Kids Triple Crown was held in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the ASICS Folkstyle Nationals in late March.

Last year, only six wrestlers were USA Wrestling Kids Triple Crown winners: Travis Wittlake of Oregon (Novice 95), Louie Hayes of Illinois (Schoolboy/girl 70), Beau Breske of Wisconsin (Schoolboy/girl 128), Mason Manville of Virginia (Schoolboy/girl 144), Samuel Colbray of Oregon (Schoolboy/girl 160) and Tevis Bartlett of Wyoming (Schoolboy/girl 175).

This is also the final event for the annual U.S. Future Olympian Rankings in these age divisions.
