Burroughs appears on NBC Today Show and CNN Early Start on Friday morning

2012 U.S. Olympian and 2011 World champion Jordan Burroughs (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids) appeared on two major national morning television shows on Friday morning, June 8.

His day started with the CNN’s Earl Start show. He waas scheduled to appear on the show at 5:40 a.m. ET

Burrough's next appearance will be on the NBC Today Show. The interview was held at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Ann Curry and Al Roker were among the four Today Show hosts to interview Burroughs.

Burroughs is in New York City for training and competition. 

He won his match at 74 kg in the USA vs. Russia freestyle dual meet as part of the ASICS Beat the Streets Gala in Times Square on Thursday night.

Burroughs has been one of the top wrestlers in the world since completing his college wrestling career at the University of Nebraska in March 2011. He was a two-time NCAA champion and a 2011 Dan Hodge Trophy winner.

Burroughs has now won 34 straight matches at the Senior level. Included were the 2011 U.S. Open, the 2011 Beat the Streets Dual, the 2011 World Team Trials, the 2011 Ukrainian Memorial International, the 2011 World Championships, the 2011 Pan American Games, the 2012 Dave Schultz Memorial, the 2012 Cerro Pelado International and the 2012 Freestyle World Cup.

A native of Sicklerville, N.J., he was a New Jersey high school state champion before attending Nebraska.
